Todd Galloway - Head Coach
The 2018-2019 season will be Todd's first season as Head Coach for the Gryphons. Todd has spent the last year and a half as Director of Recruiting, after spending six seasons as the Offensive Coordinator for the Gryphons.
Over the last six seasons the offence has seen a lot of change. In the past five years, he has helped lead the Gryphons to a 28-3 regular season record, 5-4 in the playoffs including three Yates Cup appearances culminating in a 2015 Yates Cup Championship title last year.
Todd has over a decade of diverse coaching experience at various levels including the CIS, high school and varsity leagues. Prior to Guelph, he spent five years coaching in Nova Scotia with the St. Mary's Huskies, Sackville High School and the Metro Mustangs of the Nova Scotia Varsity Football League (NSVFL). He got his start coaching at his alma mater Wilfrid Laurier University. He spent three seasons after graduating (2004-2006), serving as the Receivers Coach and Assistant Offensive Coach. He was a member of the coaching staff during the Golden Hawks Vanier Cup title in 2005. During that time he also served as the Offensive Coordinator in the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) for the Guelph Bears (now Junior Gryphons) in 2006. He has also coached at the provincial level coaching for Team Nova Scotia U17 and U18's, and coaching for Team Ontario Texas U19 that defeated Team USA.
He is a native of Kitchener, Ontario, and played Wide Receiver at Laurier (2000-2003) while earning an Honours Bachelor's degree in Biology. While coaching he continued his education and did work towards completing a Master's degree in Medical Sciences with a specialization in Physiology and Pharmacology. Todd lives just outside Guelph with his wife Trudy, their 6-year-old son Grady, and their six-month old daughter Harper.
