Charette and Elite Clinic

Former Gryphon receiver Alex Charette is glad to see that high school players now are getting a chance he never had when he was in high school about a decade ago. “I never attended a camp like this,” he said during a break in the Gryphons’ elite skills camp at the Gryphon Fieldhouse.

Gryphon Football Coaching Clinic

The Guelph Gryphons feel that they and the other OUA football programs have an obligation to help improve the quality of football in Ontario. In doing so, it should help grow their own programs as well as the quality of football in the OUA league. 


YOTK Series - Gabriel Ferraro

Gabriel Ferraro is a fourth year Commerce major who has been working hard to climb the ladder ever since joining Gryphon Football in 2014. Ferrao has been handling the kicking and punting responsibilities for the last 3 years on his own after inheriting the position from his brother, and now kicking coach, Daniel Ferraro.


The Year of the Kicker

This series was created to shine a spotlight on six of the best Kickers(K) and Punters(P) in U Sports from the 2017 Football season who carried their teams to victories and collected a ton of accolades on the way. All six players have been key components in the overall success of their teams not only this past season, but for multiple seasons.

The Full Circle Transition of Lukas Brennan

Third-year Gryphon Lukas Brennan felt like he was going back to his roots midway through the 2017 season when he made the switch from defence to offence.

“I started out playing offence when I was 12,” the tight end/fullback says.

Simon Chaves: A National Champion

Simon Chaves, a Gryphon defensive back, is a national champion.

Chaves, one of several two-sport athletes on the Gryphon roster, capped off his wrestling season by capturing Wrestling Canada’s Greco-Roman national championship in the men’s 82-kilogram class.

As time moves on, society finds itself adapting to so many different technological and societal changes that were once unimaginable. Just when we thought that we couldn’t be surprised by anything else that comes our way, the University of Guelph proved us wrong.

McFalls Ready for Action

Offensive lineman Andy McFalls is hoping that the work he’s put in this winter will lead to a longer season this fall. McFalls saw his rookie season come to a premature end early in September when he suffered a broken leg in practice.

Gryphon Football Handout 2017 Awards at Annual "Wildman Dinner"

It was a night to recognize the many faces that make Gryphon Football the special program that it is. Coaches, players, staff, supporters and members of the Guelph community came out to the University of Guelph's Creelman Hall on Saturday night (Jan. 27) for the Wildman Dinner, the annual awards night for the Guelph Gryphons football team.

It likely surprised none of his teammates when fifth-year defensive back Orion Edwards hugged each of the 10 former winners of the Gryphons’ Ted Wildman Award in attendance when he was named the 2017 recipient of the award.


Pickett Invited to College Gridiron Showcase

Offensive guard Andrew Pickett of the Guelph Gryphons was one of five Canadians among 180 players invited to take part in the College Gridiron Showcase early this month at Addison, Tex.
