Mike returns to the Gryphon coaching staff after working at the Canadian Football League Office. He spent two seasons with the CFL in the Football Operations department, working with Officials and Team staff. Mike was previously with the Gryphons from 2012 to 2016 primarily as a Defensive Assistant and Video Coordinator and is now the Director of Football Operations. He is excited to be back on campus with the Gryphons and looking forward to bringing back a 5th Yates Cup Trophy to the City of Guelph. His most memorable moment as a Gryphon was their 2012 semi-final win where Mike Fortino caught the game winning TD in overtime.

Mike graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Arts in History (2009) and is currently finishing his Sports Management Degree at Brock University. He began coaching football in 2010 with the Junior Varsity Hamilton Ironmen. His Head Coach Ken McGuire was a major influence on him to pursue coaching at the next level.

Mike resides in Guelph with his wife Becky, their daughter Leila, and Diesel the beagle.
