Marcello Campanaro - Quarterbacks Coach


Marcello is entering his third year as Quarterbacks Coach with the Gryphons. A 1984 McMaster graduate, he went on to complete his Bachelor of Education degree at Queen's University in 1986. He served as the QB Coach and the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator at McMaster University from 1996-2003. In 2004 he moved into the positions of Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the McMaster Mauraders from 2004-2006. He lives with his wife Cynthia and has three children; Roman, Naia and Mylana.

Currently he is the Head of Physical Education at M.M. Robinson High School in Burlington, Ontario. Campanaro has spent 24 of his last 27 years teaching as coach of the M.M. Robinson Rams. He led them to a national number one ranking in 1992 and 1993. His team appeared in several Halton Championship games and captured four Halton Division I Football titles (1993, 1994, and 2001, 2012), along with three Golden Horseshoe Athletic Conference Crowns. His coaching career has also included the role of Offensive Coordinator of the Burlington Varsity Stampeders. He is a three-time nominee for the CFL/NFL High School Coach of the Year, a 2012 recipient of the McMaster High School Football Coaching Achievement Award and a recipient of the OFSSA Pete Beach Award in 2012.
